Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to identify patients presenting with lymphadenopathy and differentiate lymphadenopathy from other causes of lumps. The learner will be able to perform a thorough history and physical examination for the patient with lymphadenopathy. The learner will be able to formulate an appropriate list of differential diagnoses for the patient with lymphadenopathy and determine whether the lymphadenopathy is a localized or generalized process. Finally, participants will be able to carry out investigations to further determine the cause of lymphadenopathy (including imaging and biopsies) and formulate an appropriate management plan depending on the cause.
